About the event

Session Outline

In this session, we’ll be discussing how being autistic or ADHD can impact making friends, maintaining relationships, and being a part of a community.

We'll learn ways that we can build connections with others using our unique neurodivergent interests and strengths.

We'll practice a couple of tools and techniques to help you develop relationships in a way that works for you.

Session facilitators

The sessions will be led by Sascha and one other facilitator depending on your session time.

About Sascha

Sascha is an experienced facilitator and coach with young people and has won awards for innovative work in schools. She has a background in creative arts, and has worked to introduce young people to the benefits of creativity.

About Mekkin

Mekkin is our Lead Peer Support Guide. As an autistic and ADHD person, she had her own struggles with secondary school and university. Now she uses her strengths and experiences to help support and guide neurodivergent young people, as well as create educational content on behalf of Uncommon.

About Becky

Becky is a coach, SENCO and safeguarding specialist. She has worked in leadership roles within a large secondary school including that of a Special Educational Needs coordinator, which has given her valuable expertise on training education practitioners to create learning environments for young people which are inclusive for all.

Further details

We will send out full details about each session as well as the confirmed facilitators 2 days before each event along with a welcome video that young people can view.
