1:1 Mentoring For Your
Child or Teen
Uncommon mentoring supports neurodivergent (ND) young people aged 8–18 who need a safe, consistent, interest-led space with positive ND role models.
Our mentoring consists of one-to-one sessions on Zoom, led by a mentor with shared interests, lived experience, and a focus on emotional safety.
Uncommon is unique in that all of our mentors are neurodivergent, and we also offer in-game mentoring, supporting young people in environments that feel safe and familiar.
Mentoring is for young people who are...

Lonely or struggling with friendships
Burned out or disengaged
Anxious, masking or figuring out who they are
Big feelers
Future thinkers
Young people who want connection but find it hard to make or keep friends - often feeling ‘different’ or struggling to feel they fit in.
Young people who have withdrawn from school, clubs or peers after burnout, masking exhaustion or school trauma.
Young people trying to understand their neurodivergence and identity, often feeling misunderstood or unsure how to be themselves.
Young people, including PDAers, who experience emotions deeply and sometimes feel ruled by them.
Young people and parents who are looking ahead wondering what life can be like as they grow older, take exams and pass through school.

How can mentoring help my child?
Mentors you can trust who
really get it
All of our mentors are neurodivergent, and matched to young people for their specific and shared lived experience - like gender identity, school trauma or shared interests like gaming, cats, coding, musicals or art. They’re not here to “fix”. They offer emotional support, acceptance, and a safe space to help your child thrive. someone who truly listens, understands, and works with them on whatever they need in that moment.
