Hello, I'm Grace!
I grew up in east Cardiff in South Wales, but I currently live and study at university in Portsmouth. When I was a teen, my favourite subject in school was English, I really enjoyed reading and writing stories, and picking apart stories to find hidden meanings. I also enjoyed exercising my pattern recognition in maths, and I enjoyed expressing myself in drama.
At school I often had difficulty making connections with others, as I was quite shy when I was younger and often struggled to understand social cues. Alongside this I also struggled to navigate conflicts and understand how and why they had occurred.
After my time at school, I went on to study childcare development for two years at Cardiff and Vale College. When my studies in this field ended I went on to get a job as a nursery nurse in the baby room of a nursery and day care. After spending some time in the role I decided it wasn't quite the right fit for me, so I went back to college and studied computing and game development, whilst working part time as a hotel housekeeper.
When I completed my studies for this new subject in college, I went on to study my undergraduate at the University of Portsmouth. I had initially gone to university to study computer game technology, but found out I preferred leading and organising game development projects rather than coding for them, so I changed over to the computer game production course instead, which suited me much better! During my time at university I tried out quite a few different extra curriculars, my favourite being the board games society, where I got to try out lots of different board games and table top role playing games.
