Online gaming clubs where neurodivergent young people can play, chat and make friends over the games they love.
Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing & exciting video games for neurodivergent kids.
Our gaming clubs are all about playing together and connection. Each week they'll play, chat and share favourites, in sessions run by neurodivergent facilitators who genuinely love games. Everything happens in a calm, low-demand space, at their own pace and supported by 100% neurodivergent mentors who get it.

What parents say
" The clubs have been such a great thing for my ND child. The fact that all the facilitators are ND and great role models helps too. Just a brilliant, inclusive space. So glad we gave it a try. "
" My daughter said that everyone was nice and understanding and had similar difficulties and challenges. It meant she could relate to. She especially liked that it was run by neurodivergent adults. "
" It's so hard to find a small group of people who 'get it'. The warmth and care in the session was wonderful. "

Activities everyone can get involved with
Common games we play in our Gaming clubs
Quizzes & Polls
Young people answer on their screen, so they can join in without speaking, and many love seeing how everyone else answered. There's no pressure to get anything right.
Jackbox Games
A multiplayer games platform designed for remote gaming
Gartic Phone
This is a drawing version of the telephone game. Nobody needs to be good at drawing, because the funnier the drawing, the better.
Skribble.io
Players take turns drawing a word while everyone else races to guess it in the chat. It's quick and easy to pick up, and there's no talking needed at all.

Combine clubs with 1-to-1 mentoring
Many of our young people combine small-group clubs with 1-to-1 mentoring. Some game with their mentors or do creative projects, others explore friendships, neurodivergent experiences and growing up. Our mentors are games designers, server hosts, esports competitors and desginers, so there's a mentor for everyone! We match kids with mentors that share their interests, traits and lived experiences.
WHAT TO EXPECT
How Our Gaming Clubs work
Our gaming clubs are built around playing and talking about games together, which makes it easier to know what to say. Sessions are shaped by what the group wants, so no two weeks are quite the same, and they're shaped over time by the young people who are involved.

Everyone joins however suits them. Cameras can be on or off, and young people can talk on mic, type in the chat, communicate through what they do in-game or just watch. Moving, stimming, fidgeting and ticcing are all welcome, and anyone can switch how they take part at any point.
1
Arrive
We meet on Zoom and start by asking how everyone's feeling and what their energy levels are like. Young people can answer on mic or in the chat, and cameras can stay off.
2
Warm up
A quick question, poll or mini-game gets everyone settled. It gives everyone an easy way in, without needing to think of something to say.
3
Play together
This is the heart of the session. Depending on the club, the group might farm in Pelican Town, visit each other's islands, play party games or watch a new indie game being streamed live.
4
Show and share
Most weeks there's time to show off creations, share recommendations or talk about favourite games. Joining in is optional, and watching counts too.
5
Wrap up
Finish by sharing highlights and collecting ideas for what the group wants to do next time. Members help decide what happens in their club going forwards.

A community. A place to belong
Friendships at Uncommon
Friendships start in clubs
Belonging is at the heart of everything we do, and for many young people it starts in a club.
A shared game, a regular time, familiar faces week after week.
Over time, usernames become friends, and a shared hobby becomes "these are my people."
Trust grows in our Hub and servers
So friendships can continue beyond club, all members are invited to join our moderated online Community Hub. Here they can take part in club challenges, share images of their latest builds, and create friendships that last.

Monthly Minecraft club members also get access to our private server open 10am-8pm Mon-Sun, so they can keep building and adventuring between sessions.
Friendships In Real Life
When kids want to continue a friendships beyond Uncommon, we connect parents, so you can support friendship building at your pace.
Outside of Uncommon club members game together, visit each other, or meetup at events.

"Some kids in drawing club, who've been here since it began in January 2025, discovered they're all going to Comic Con this weekend!" – Len

Getting Started with Gaming at Uncommon
Joining something new can feel like a big step, for young people and parents alike. Here’s exactly what happens from booking to first session, so there are no surprises. We’ll support you at every stage, and you can email hello@uncommonminds.co.uk any time if something feels tricky.

1. Book your place through the Momence app. We’ll email your setup instructions and server details. Momence is also where you’ll manage bookings and find your Zoom links, which are also emailed to you ahead of sessions.

2. Tell us about your child. New families complete a short intake form. Our mentors read every form before the first session, so your child is welcomed by people who already know a little about them.
3. Book in a quick ID check if you’re new to Uncommon. Every young person completes an intake process and a brief identity check, meaning we know exactly who is in our sessions. If appearing on camera is difficult, we’ll work with families to find an accessible alternative. This step must be completed before your child undertakes their first session.
4. Get the tech set up. Your young person will need Zoom on a laptop, tablet or phone. For Animal Crossing Club, they'll also need the game on a Nintendo Switch with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. For Stardew Valley Club, they'll need the game on their PC. Video Gamers Club and Games Night Social need nothing extra. If you're unsure about Zoom or joining a game, we'll help sort things out before the first session.
5. Join the session. Our mentors will welcome them in, help them understand the rules and support them to find their feet and if there are any challenges, our customer service team are ready to support you and your family.
6. Join the community. Once ID checks are complete, members can keep playing on our private server between sessions, so friendships can carry on beyond session time.
