Online
summer camp designed to support your neurodivergent child transitioning to Secondary School
Moving up to secondary school is a big deal - new teachers, new subjects, new social dynamics, and a whole new building to navigate. For neurodivergent young people, that transition can feel especially overwhelming.
โ
Our Transitioning to Secondary camp takes everything from our popular online course and brings it together into three focused, fun-filled days.
Ready for Year 7, your young person will build the skills, strategies, and self-knowledge they need to feel genuinely ready for the road ahead - not just coping, but thriving.
โ
Our camps are designed specifically for neurodivergent young people aged 8–14, with or without a diagnosis. Small groups mean more individual attention, less overwhelm, and 100% neurodivergent mentors who genuinely understand how ND kids think, play, and thrive.

Why our Transition Camp works so effectively
Our courses combine psycho-education and peer support - the two most effective, evidence-backed techniques for supporting neurodivergent young people.
๐ง Psycho-Education helps teens understand their unique brains through fun, interactive sessions.
โ
Research shows that improving young people's understanding of neurodivergent traits through psychology and neuroscience education, can improved self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and enhanced mental health.
๐ค Peer Support enable young people to share their experiences, so they don't feel alone in their experiences.
โ
Evidence shows that engaging with understanding peers (peer support) improves social satisfaction, increases self-acceptance, and a sense of belonging.
What our families say
Taking part in clubs and the recent summer camp has been amazing for my son. The session leaders are incredibly positive, patient and above all inclusive. There’s never any pressure and they are so encouraging. The community is fantastic and shows such promise for growth. I cannot recommend Uncommon highly enough."

Is this camp right for my child?
This camp is designed for neurodivergent young people starting Year 7 - no diagnosis needed, self-identified is absolutely fine. Whether your child is quietly worried about the change ahead or really struggling with the thought of secondary school, this is exactly who the camp is built for.
โ
Our mentors are neurodivergent themselves. They understand anxiety, demand avoidance, and rejection sensitivity - and they know how to hold space for young people who've had difficult experiences in group settings before. Camps are kept deliberately small, and your child can join with camera on or off, mic on or off, or simply by watching and using the text channel. How they participate can change from session to session - whatever feels right on the day is absolutely fine.
