Online Minecraft summer camps designed around your neurodivergent child
Every week of the summer holidays!
Does your child love building, exploring and creating in Minecraft?
This summer, they can join a three-day online Minecraft camp with other young people who love the game just as much as they do — and keep playing afterwards with one month of access to our private Uncommon Minecraft servers for Java and Bedrock players, free community clubs and our online community activities included in the camp price.
That means camp is not just three afternoons of supported Minecraft fun. It is a way for your child to meet other players, build confidence in a small group and continue exploring, creating and connecting throughout the summer.
In small, carefully managed groups, campers will dream up their own projects, contribute to epic group builds, try challenges and mini-games and build confidence — all inside the blocky world they already love.
Our camps are designed especially for neurodivergent young people aged 8–14, with or without a diagnosis.
Small groups mean more individual attention, less noise and overwhelm, and more space for each child to participate in a way that works for them. Our mentors are neurodivergent young adults who genuinely understand how ND children think, play, communicate and thrive.
First week of August camp is sold out. But we have just 1-4 spaces left in our other July and August camps. So if it sounds like a good fit but you have questions, checkout our FAQ below, or use our chatbot to ask the team!
3 days of camp and a summer of fun! Every camp includes online community access and 6 free club sessions

Is this right for my child?
Each camp runs across three days during the summer holidays, online via Zoom, kept deliberately small so every young person has space. Your child can join with camera on or off, mic on or off, or simply by watching.
Our mentors are neurodivergent themselves. They understand things like demand avoidance, rejection sensitivity, and social anxiety, and know how to hold space for young people who’ve had difficult experiences in group settings before
โ
We'll also have quiet breaks, and a longer movement break halfway through session to help keep everyone comfortable. We regularly check-in throughout camp to ensure that everything is going well and to put in place any additional support your child might need.

Three days of camp.
A whole summer of community.

Find your people this summer
Camp is just the beginning. Every Uncommon camper gets access to our safe, neurodivergent-affirming summer community — a place to keep creating, playing, sharing and connecting after camp ends.
โ
๐ Find your people
Meet other young people who share your interests, humour, creativity and ways of communicating.
โ
๐จ Keep creating & playing
Join weekly gaming and social time in our Tuesday 6pm Video Gamers Community Club, take part in summer polls, Book Nook, exhibitions, sticker competitions and themed activities around characters, animals and adventures.
โจ Take on creative challenges
Every fortnight, we’ll release a new creative brief with inspiration and ideas to help young people keep making and sharing across the summer.
๐ Try more clubs
Campers also get two free Uncommon club sessions, so they can explore new activities or reconnect with familiar faces after camp.
โ
Young people can join in as much or as little as they like — whether that means sharing a creation, voting in a poll, joining a game, trying a club or quietly spending time in a community where they feel understood.

Camp Schedule
As with our weekly clubs, we'll meet on Zoom before jumping into our secure server. Everyone is welcome to attend with cameras off or on, and to message or chat - whatever works for your child !
โ
Day 1
Meet your fellow campers, play some awesome mini-games together, then go on a tour around our server!
Day 2
Its build day! Take on one of our build challenges, or get creating however you'd like. After the break, jump through a warp to explore the outer edges of our server!
Day 3
Continue building or exploring with new friends, or join in our epic end-of-camp event where we'll battle or explore a special custom zone as a team before finishing with a fantastic end of camp celebration.
After Camp
Enjoy 1 whole month of server access (for free within the price of camp!) where you can continue to play and build with new found friends, take part in community events, and maybe join a regular weekly club to continue after summer!

From our parents
"Uncommon has been a wonderful ‘anchor’ over the summer and now again through the transition back to school. Thank you all so much."
โ
"Taking part in clubs and the recent summer camp has been amazing for my son. The session leaders are incredibly positive, patient and above all inclusive. There’s never any pressure and they are so encouraging. The community is fantastic. I cannot recommend Uncommon highly enough."
"Uncommon is so good, and so central to our family's support network at the moment, I'm torn between wanting to share it with everyone, and wanting to keep it to ourselves!! I would recommend this to any neurodivergent tween who likes to regulate with online worlds - anyone who would like to create, feel mastery, and feel supported in their own unique identity. I have also seen how the organisation fosters friendships, with young people bonding over shared interests and respecting each other's worlds."

Camp is just the beginning.
For many neurodivergent young people, open-ended social groups can feel difficult.
Being told to “make friends” or “join in” can create pressure, especially if conversation does not come easily or past social experiences have been hard.
Minecraft gives everyone something shared to focus on.
Young people can connect by playing the same game, helping each other, showing what they have made, laughing at funny moments or discovering that someone else loves the same thing they do.
They do not have to start with small talk. They can start with play.
โ
But we know that friendships and belonging rarely appear fully formed after one Zoom session — or even after three days.
โ
That is why Minecraft campers also receive access to the wider Uncommon summer community after camp.
โ
This includes:
• 1 Month's access to our private Minecraft server open 10am-8pm daily
• Our weekly gaming and social club
• Summer community activities and creative challenges
• A safe online space to share interests, ideas and creations
• Free Uncommon club sessions after camp
• Opportunities to keep connecting with young people who share their interests
For children who have found other groups difficult, having a place where their interests are understood and their way of joining in is respected can be incredibly powerful.

Meet your Minecraft Camp Mentors
Our mentors are young neurodivergent adults who share the experiences and passions of the young people they support. They also run our regular after-school clubs 50 weeks a year, so if your child meets a mentor they love, they can join them in a club after camp.
They have a strong understanding of neurodivergent presentations, demand avoidance, rejection sensitivity and supporting those with anxiety. They bring thousands of hours experience running our weekly clubs, and know how to hold space for young people who’ve had difficult experiences in group settings before.
Plus they're amazing at creating inspiring, fun spaces where kids feel they belong!

FAQs
โ
Is Minecraft camp right for my child?
If your child loves Minecraft, they'll feel right at home. Our Minecraft camps are designed for children who enjoy building, exploring and problem-solving in-game - whether they're a seasoned player or still finding their feet. If you're not sure whether it's the right fit, just email us at hello@uncommonminds.co.uk and tell us a bit about your child and we'll help you decide.
โ
What if my child needs to miss a day or leave early?
Not a problem — just drop us a note before the session so our mentors are aware. For Minecraft camp specifically, missing a day won't affect your child's server access, and they'll be able to pick up where they left off when they're back.
โ
How do I book a Minecraft camp?
Camps are booked through the Momence app or using the links above. Once you've set up your account, you can browse available Minecraft camps and book your child's place. Spaces fill up quickly, so we'd recommend booking as early as you can - and getting Minecraft and the Microsoft account set up straight away so you're ready to go.
โ
Can I get a refund?
We try to work as flexibly as possible with our families and we know that things come up. Our Minecraft camps are very popular and sell out quickly, so please do give us as much notice as possible if you won't be able to attend. Get in touch at hello@uncommonminds.co.uk and we'll do our best to help.
What version of Minecraft does my child need?
โโ
We welcome Java and Bedrock players, but please read some important information below.
โ
Our server runs on Java Edition, which is the PC/Mac version of the game however we have special plugins that mean we can also welcome Bedrock players on consoles - you'll just need to make some small changes to your system setting. If you play on a tablet, you can do this simply. If your child currently plays on Bedrock Edition on console, please get in touch before camp at hello@uncommonminds.co.uk and we'll advise on the best setup for their device. We also offer a short tech setup session on the day before camp to make sure they can start camp ready and raring to go!
โ
We bought Minecraft on console - can my child still join?
โ
Absolutely! Console versions run on Bedrock Edition, which uses a different server infrastructure to Java. Please contact us before camp and we'll advise on whether your child's setup will work and what steps may be needed. Generally, joining on an Ipad is incredibly simple but some devices (e.g. Xbox, Switch) might need some additional steps, which we can support on.
โ
How do I set up a Microsoft account for my child?
โ
You can create one at account.microsoft.com. If your child is under 13, you'll need to set up a family account and add them as a child account - this gives you parental controls and is required for them to play on our server. Once created, link it to Minecraft by launching the game and signing in. If you need help, just email us and we'll walk you through it.
โ
My child is under 13 - are there extra account restrictions I need to know about?
โ
Yes - Microsoft child accounts have additional privacy and communication settings enabled by default, which can sometimes prevent children from joining multiplayer servers. Before camp, please check your Microsoft Family Safety settings and make sure multiplayer and server access are enabled. If you're not sure how to do this, just email us and we'll help.
โ
How do I complete ID verification, and why is it needed?
Our private Minecraft server is used by children outside of session times, where being on camera or mic isn't required. To keep that space safe, we do a quick ID check before granting access - an adult shows us their ID, and we briefly see your child on camera. It takes around 10-15 seconds. Without this, we're unable to grant server access outside of supervised sessions.
โ
How do I test the server connection before camp?
We strongly recommend testing everything at least a day before camp starts - it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a little longer if any troubleshooting is needed. If you run into any issues, email us at hello@uncommonminds.co.uk and we'll help you get sorted in time.
โ
How long does my child have access to the server?
Once ID verification is complete, your child can access our private Minecraft server between sessions. Camp members retain access for one month after camp ends - and if your child joins a regular Minecraft club after camp, access continues for as long as their membership is active. If access ever lapses, just get in touch and we'll reinstate it.
